Airbus and Crane have developed the Enhanced Landing Gear Control Interface Unit
(LGCIU) PN 80-178-001-88012 which will soon replace the current unit.
-
Offers reduced weight, higher reliability, and enhanced BITE Functionality with
LGCIU’s inter-communication and improved consumption and power handling.
-
Will be introduced on A320 aircraft final assembly line after successful
in-service evaluation and will become the only standard in 2010. The LGCIU is
fully interchangeable and intermixable with all previous LGCIU standards (*
except on bogie-type MLG aircraft [8 MLG wheels]).
-
When also embodied with Airbus MOD 39303, introducing an ARINC 429 link between
the 2 LGCIU positions, Crane’s LGCIU improved BITE functionality is enabled
(functionality not available with current LGCIUs).
