Lynnwood, Wash. –
May 7, 2007 – Crane Aerospace & Electronics, a segment of Crane Co. (NYSE:CR),
announces the appointment of Ramin Aflakian as Vice President of the
Cabin Solutions Value Stream. In this role, Aflakian will be responsible
for the entire Cabin Solutions value stream process from product concept
to launch and from order to delivery. Cabin Solutions is comprised of
P.L. Porter motion control products for passenger seats including seat
recline devices for economy class seats, and sophisticated
software-controlled seat actuation and comfort control systems for first
class and business class seating.
Aflakian joined
Crane Aerospace & Electronics in 1999 as Chief Engineer for the Sensing
& Control Systems group. He was later promoted to Director of
Engineering for Sensing Systems, and then, in March of 2005, to Group
Director of Central Engineering. Aflakian came to Crane from Space
Systems/Loral where he managed a group of over 200 people involved in
electrical and mechanical design, final integration, and subcontract
management. Prior to that, he spent 13 years at Boeing in engineering
management where his responsibilities included designing power supplies
for the Cabin Management System on the 777. Aflakian received a
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Seattle University and
a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of
Washington.
